چکیده
The aim of this paper is to provide, in the framework Green elasticity, closest or nearest fourthorder isotropic, cubic and transversely isotropic elasticity tensors with higher symmetries for a general anisotropic tensor any other lower symmetry. Using gauge parameter, procedure done on dimensionless form based different generalized Euclidean distances, namely conventional, log-, power-Euclidean distance functions. In case functions, results are presented powers 0.5, 1 2. Except conventional function, functions adopted preserve property invariance by inversion, meaning that stiffness also valid compliance tensor. Explicit formulations given determining tensors, where multiplication tables bases diagonal. More involved coupled equations coefficients which can be solved numerically. Two material cases studied numerical examples, illustrate error measures present methods, including influence from parameter.

The isotropic material closest to a given anisotropic material
The isotropic elastic moduli closest to a given anisotropic elasticity tensor are defined using three definitions of elastic distance, the standard Frobenius (Euclidean) norm, the Riemannian distance for tensors, and the log-Euclidean norm. The closest moduli are unique for the Riemannian and the log-Euclidean norms, independent of whether the difference in stiffness or compliance is considered...
متن کاملTransversely isotropic tensile material properties of skeletal muscle tissue.
Of the plethora of work performed analyzing skeletal muscle tissue, relatively little has been done in the examination of its passive material properties. Previous studies of the passive properties of skeletal muscle have been primarily performed along the longitudinal material direction. In order to ensure the accuracy of the predictions of computational models of skeletal muscles, a better un...
متن کاملTransversely Isotropic Saturated Porous Formations
The wavefields generated by monopole and dipole sources in a fluid filled borehole embedded in multilayered transversely isotropic saturated porous formations are studied. The layers are modeled following Biot theory modified in accordance with homogenization theory. It allows to take into account a transversely isotropic skeleton and/or a transversely isotropic complex permeability tensor. The...
متن کاملTransversely Isotropic Poroelasticity Arising from Thin Isotropic Layers
Percolation phenomena play central roles in the eld of poroelasticity, where two distinct sets of percolating continua intertwine. A connected solid frame forms the basis of the elastic behavior of a poroelastic medium in the presence of external con ning forces, while connected pores permit a percolating uid (if present) to in uence the mechanical response of the system from within. The presen...
متن کاملAnalytical Solution for a Two-Layer Transversely Isotropic Half-Space Affected by an Arbitrary Shape Dynamic Surface Load
The dynamic response of a transversely isotropic, linearly elastic layer bonded to the surface of a half-space of a different transversely isotropic material under arbitrary shape surface loads is considered. With the help of displacements and stresses Green’s functions, an analytical formulation is presented for the determination of the displacements and stresses at any point in both surface l...
